Participants will get to choose to do Letter Cutting or Decorative Carving in Stone for the day.

This course is intended to give participants the skills and knowledge to be able to produce good quality architectural carvings in stone and is an ideal starting point for those interested in both the setting out and application of cutting letters in stone. You will gain knowledge in designing, planning and a range of carving styles guided by our experienced expert tutor.

Participants are encouraged to explore and develop their own image for carving and the course covers how to handle tools and basic carving techniques. The course tutor will give practical demonstrations on each section of the course and guided carving will take place throughout the day. You will be able to create a finished piece of carved work to take home.

Stone and all the tools and equipment required for the course are provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring ideas or sketches of what they would like to carve.
