Merryhill training Centre is an extension of SLCT, designed to educate, inform and train conservation professionals, craftsmen and women, building owners and managers, and the general public.

The built project started back in 2005 with the vision on creating a world-class National training centre for the repair and conservation of the nation’s architectural heritage.

Merryhill Project was funded by Scottish Enterprise and Historic Environment Scotland, on behalf of the Scottish Lime Centre Trust.

The main aim of this project is to increase the number of people with stonemasonry and other heritage skills and expertise in what is considered a growing sector of the construction industry then.

This facility provides a dedicated resource to equip people with the skills to ensure our built heritage is secured for future generations.

Our Merryhill Training Centre is just up the road from Charlestown Workshops and is our all weather training centre.
