Roz is the Keynote Speaker at the 3rd Historic Mortars Conference hosted by the University of the West of Scotland. The audience comprises of over 100 delegates from all over Europe and further afield brought together to demonstrate and share their knowledge, research projects and findings. Roz feels it is critical that academic knowledge is fully translated into practical outcomes for the appropriate repair, conservation and maintenance of our built heritage and not simply to ‘reinvent the wheel’!
Meanwhile, the rest of the team are gearing up for putting on displays and demonstrations for the Penicuik House Doors Open day on Saturday, 14 September. Come along and see stone carving demonstrations by our expert carver Andy McFetters and lime pointing by our Principle Masonry trainer, Scott MacAskill, or ‘have a go yourself’. There is something for the kids too, including the ever popular, painting plaster casts. There are also guided walks of Penicuik House by Sir Robert Clerk at 11.30am and 1.30pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
