SCOTTISH LIME CENTRE TRUST is a charity registered in Scotland no: SC022692 and a charitable company limited by guarantee, registered in Scotland no: SC151481. Our registered office is at Scottish Lime Centre Trust, Charlestown Workshops, 2 Rocks Rd, Charlestown, Dunfermline KY11 3EN.

2. How we collect information 

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order or subscribe to our newsletter.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information.

Our website contains "opt-in" boxes on pages where you can provide personal information (name and email address) for the purpose of receiving information in the form of marketing emails. We use mailing lists, through a specialist third party email provider (Mailchimp) to deliver those emails. We do not share such information with any other third parties.

If you do not want us to send you information as described where relevant, you should leave the "opt-in" boxes unticked.

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.

Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email. 

4. Sharing your information 

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

Communication, engagement and actions taken through external social media platforms that this website and its owners participate on are subject to the terms and conditions as well as the privacy policies held with each social media platform respectively. Users are advised to use social media platforms wisely and communicate / engage upon them with due care and caution in regard to their own privacy and personal details. This website nor its owners will never ask for personal or sensitive information through social media platforms and encourage users wishing to discuss sensitive details to contact them through primary communication channels such as by telephone or email.

This website may use social sharing buttons which help share web content directly from web pages to the social media platform in question. Users are advised before using such social sharing buttons that they do so at their own discretion and note that the social media platform may track and save your request to share a web page respectively through your social media platform account.

5. Cookies and traffic data 

Cookies are small text files which are transferred from our website, product or service and stored on your computer's hard drive.  They are widely used in order to help websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide general usage information to the owners of the site.  We're currently looking into making further improvements to our privacy policy and how cookies are managed on our website, so please check back here for updates. 

Web analytics and similar services - Our website uses web analytics services. Web analytics cookies allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and see how they move around the website, product or service. This helps us make our service to you better. 

We keep a record of traffic data which is logged automatically by our server, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the website that you visited before ours, the website you visit after leaving our site. We also collect some site, product and service statistics such as access rates, page hits and page views. We are not able to identify any individual from traffic data or site statistics.

If we hold any information about you which is incorrect or if there are any changes to your details please let us know so that we can keep our records accurate and up to date. If you wish to request a copy of the data we have stored in relation to your order (name, email address, billing address, shipping address, telephone number and any e mail preferences), please write to the above address or email your request to admin@scotlime.org

Please note, your request must come from the same email address used in relation to your order to ensure your privacy.

We will execute such requests within one month of receipt of your email.

Please note - we do not store credit card numbers or any other payment information on our server. 

If you wish to have all such data deleted (name, email address, billing address, shipping address, telephone number and any email preferences), please email your request to admin@scotlime.org

Please note, your request must come from the same e mail address used in relation to your order to ensure your privacy.

We will execute such requests within one month of receipt of your email. Please note – we are required by law to store this data for a period of twelve (12) months from order date to comply with financial services regulations and cannot exercise such a request until this period has passed. 

In the unlikely event of any data breach, we will notify the appropriate supervisory authority without undue delay, and where feasible no later than seventy-two (72) hours of the discovery of the breach.

In the unlikely event of such a data breach being likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, we will notify those individuals without undue delay, and where feasible no later than seventy-two (72) hours of the discovery of the breach.

7. Changes to our privacy policy 

We may change our privacy policy from time to time. We will always update the privacy policy on our website, so please try to read it when you visit the website.

8. Security and storage of information

We will keep your information secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures against its unauthorised or unlawful processing and against its accidental loss, destruction or damage. 

Some communications sent over the internet, such as email via our website may not be secured, however emails received through admin@scotlime.org are encrypted.  Although we do our best to monitor and improve how we protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data which is transmitted to our website or other products and services via an internet or similar connection and any transmission of data to our site is at your own risk.  Our payment processor Sage Pay however use secure connections in our online payment form.

All information that we keep is stored in a firewall protected server which is monitored and kept up-to-date with the latest security software.

9. Other Sites

If you follow a link from our website, product or service to another site or service, this policy will no longer apply. We are not responsible for the information handling practices of third party sites or services and we encourage you to read the privacy policies appearing on those sites or services.
