The Scottish Lime Centre Trust (SLCT) is coming of age, we turned 18 this summer!

With more than 10,000 learners through our gates and over 4,000 building advisory projects and mortar analyses under our belts throughout the last 18 years, the knowledge and skills base at the SLCT is unrivalled. This all means that our training and education programme is ‘cutting edge’ and continuously updated as we learn more and more about how to fix traditional buildings in a pragmatic and practical manner. We welcome learners from far and wide and from all the home nations and the Republic of Ireland, one Architect last summer flying in from Spain no less!

The range of buildings we advise on is also very diverse, from castles to cottages, tenements to mansion houses and lighthouses to bridges and we hold what we believe to be the world’s largest archive of mortar, plaster and render samples including samples of building materials from The White House to the Great Wall of China. Our building advisory services are hard to source elsewhere which explains why we currently have a sample in our lab that has been sent for analysis from Austraila!

To celebrate our birthday, we have invested in a bright new website which we hope you will enjoy taking a look around.
