Anne Schmidt

Our HES (Historic Environment Scotland) Intern Anne Schmidt has been with us now just over three months working on our Historic Mortars Database. Anne is working at entering every sample we have analysed at SLCT from the very beginning in 1994 – 22 years’ worth of samples! This mammoth task will in the future help to form trends or theories about historic mortars and traditional buildings, and hopefully be a useful research tool. Along the way Anne has found very interesting projects we have been involved in from the Palace at Knossos to the White House in the USA.
