We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker for this year’s Scottish Lime Centre Trust Annual Christmas lecture will be multi-award winning architect Malcolm Fraser and his lecture is titled ‘The Luxury of Austerity’.
Malcolm Fraser is an Edinburgh-based architect who runs a practice of the same name carrying out a wide range of architectural commissions, many involving historic buildings and structures. One of Malcolm’s architecture practice’s current projects is the creation of a new museum for the Outer Hebrides as part of a major project to repair and bring back into use Lews Castle on the Isle of Lewis. Malcolm has recently been named as the Chair of the Scottish Government’s National Review of Town Centres which will address issues associated with planning, rents and rates, competition and empty properties.
Malcolm’s lecture will be followed by a lecture from our own Roz Artis with the title ‘Celebrating the Scottish Lime Centre Trust’s coming of age’. SLCT turned 18 this year and as the very first employee Roz, now Joint Managing Director and Technical Director, will reflect on those years of operation, the highlights and achievements and delving into the unknown world of social media.
This year’s Scottish Lime Centre Trust Annual Christmas Lecture will take place on Thursday 13th December at Charlestown Workshops, 3-5pm. If you would like to join us for the lectures followed by festive refreshments please reserve your seat now by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org (we anticipate a full house and numbers are limited).
