Last Friday (24 January) saw 12 Civil Engineers, Technicians and Stonemasons attend our very first course designed to introduce lime based mortars for the repair of historic masonry structures from arch bridges to harbours and lighthouses to retaining walls. Course participants enjoyed a morning of theory and learning to put specifications together and then the afternoon saw them building a dry stone arch and consolidating it with a traditional ‘hot lime’ grout. The feedback was excellent...
“(an) excellent course, which will change the way our Council maintains its bridge stock” A.J.
“good value course and an opportunity to quiz industry experts” D.W.
“ (now I am) more confident in dealing with lime based products” M.K.
This course will be running again on 21 March 2014, please see our course calendar for further details or to book a place.
