The Scottish Lime Centre Trust is delighted to be appointing Ian White Associates Landscape Architects, Morham and Brotchie Quantity Surveyors and Douglas Wheeler Associates to undertake an important feasibility study project based at Charlestown Workshops to establish a showcase of Scottish traditional masonry construction, materials and construction techniques as well as documenting the rich industrial history of lime production in Fife. The project will start with a workshop with the pupils of Limekilns Primary School followed by a design workshop with the local history group, The Gellet Society and members of the local community and surrounding villages. It is hoped the project will be completed by January 2014 and the design proposals will be displayed thereafter at Charlestown Workshops.

THIS PROJECT IS BEING FINANCED BY THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT AND THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY LEADER IN FIFE PROGRAMME 2007-2013 AND BY FIFE COUNCIL’S FAIRER SCOTLAND FUND
